Facebook's Policy on Fake Likes

Your Facebook business pages may be losing fake likes. Facebook planned an operation described as ‘unliking’ and began putting it into action.

Facebook removes fake accounts

The largest loss cited in the report was recorded by Texas HoldEm Poker, which lost 96,000 likes. Rihanna, Shakira and Lady Gaga also appeared on the list.

The removal was attributed to Facebook's new security system. Unsurprisingly, it was not a manual process: the system removed likes accumulated through suspicious applications.

The effect on Georgian pages was a particular question. Many local pages had accumulated likes through similar game applications. It remained to be seen which Facebook would regard as genuine. Below are figures from Leavingstone, which were expected to change as the process continued.
