WooCommerce Checkout blocks: check the integrations

A shop adopts a fresh block-based checkout and the form looks polished. Later, a payment method is missing or a required identification field is not stored. An attractive page does not yet establish a working sales journey.
Checkout combines the theme, payment providers, delivery rules, discounts and integrations. Treat its replacement as a functional change, especially where local services or custom fields are involved.
Verify block compatibility explicitly
The WooCommerce 8.3 release introduced Cart and Checkout blocks into the default experience for new installations. Upgrading an existing shop did not automatically replace its previous checkout.
The official developer FAQ distinguishes integration support for blocks. An extension working with the classic form is not automatically compatible. Review supported versions and then test its actual behaviour.

Inventory the dependencies
List payment methods, instalments, delivery conditions and extra fields. Identify where each value must go. A new form does not prove that identification, company or address details reach the stored order correctly.
Use a separate environment with representative baskets: ordinary products, variations, coupons and delivery options. Use the provider’s official payment test mode. Avoid unnecessary use of customer records or real orders.

Follow the order beyond payment
Compare order status, confirmation email, stored fields and downstream records. Check failed and abandoned payment attempts too. A success screen cannot prove that payment, status and fulfilment data all agree.
- Retain a recovery route for pages and configuration.
- Check each extension’s block compatibility.
- Test ordinary and exceptional baskets.
- Compare orders, emails and connected-system records.
- Complete the same journey on a phone.
During shop development, Checkout blocks can be a suitable choice when required features work. Let verified readiness determine the migration date. Resolve a critical dependency before replacing the live route.
